Happy 2017 to you! I’m writing this on New Year’s Day, and as we all do, thinking about the upcoming year.
I decided to approach this a bit differently this year. Instead of making a list of resolutions, I’m choosing a Word of the Year, an overarching theme for myself. Fearless.
Far too many times in the past, I’ve allowed fear in its various forms to hold me back.
What does fearless mean for me? The word is fearLESS not fearFREE. To me, it doesn’t mean the absence of fear, but rather moving forward in spite of it. Confidence in knowing that if I step forward, strength and answers will eventually come. Fearless is not reckless abandon, but faith. And faith is rooted in love — of God, of myself and who He created me to be, of my family, and of the people I hope to help through my work.
When I feel fear, I will refocus that into faith and love. And move forward.
Do you have any resolutions or themes for 2017? Please share it in the comments!
