If you find yourself getting off track, don’t beat yourself up about it. Simply hit “Reset” and get back on — today. Right now!
While I am great about sticking to my workout schedule, I struggle from time to time with overeating and I have to hit reset.
This is a drastic change from how I used to be, before my 60 lb. weight loss transformation, when a bad week (or day!) would derail me permanently because I was “off my diet.” I was a walking, yo-yo dieting disaster…to say the least!
Not anymore. First of all, I refuse to ever be on a diet again. Dieting is what what left me fat and failing at weight loss! These days, I practice moderation and clean eating, and most of the time I do great with that.
But when I find I’m slipping back into old habits, I get back to logging my food and activity (I use the free app MyFitnessPal) so I can stay on top of things. Doing this really works wonders for me. This is not only because it calculates calories. More importantly, it helps me be more mindful about what I eat.
If you’re on MyFitnessPal, feel free to add me as a friend at MichelleHBB.
