Even on a drizzly, dreary day like today, I like to take a lunchtime break from the office and go for a walk. It’s good for emotional as well as physical health.
It’s especially needed this time of year, after the time change and it gets dark so early. For those of us with indoor jobs, midday light might be all the sun we can get.
Be sure to get up from your desk and take at least a 10-minute outdoor break every day. It’ll help you de-stress and stretch, help your body make vitamin D from the sun, and also fight SAD (winter depression).
If you don’t have a pretty place to walk at work, walk the parking lot. Just get out there!
