I’m so excited to show you my favorite room in the house — our new workout room!
When I celebrated my 5th anniversary of starting my healthier lifestyle, which resulted in losing 60 pounds, I decided to give myself a present: a workout room. We converted what was the home office, the “bonus” room above the garage, into an awesome fitness space. My husband and I did all the work ourselves, and on a modest budget.
Please see the above video for a complete tour of the room and an explanation of what we did.
Here is a list of some of the materials and products used in the room:
Paint: From Lowe’s. Valspar. Darker shade: Woodland, #2006-5A. Lighter shade: Sweet Cardamom, 2006-5C. Also, Ceiling White.
Lights: From Lowe’s. Portfolio Sparta 8-Light Brushed Steel Track Bar Fixed Track Light Kit (2). Bulbs: Dimmable Decorative Halogen Light Bulbs. Dimmer switch (2).
Mirrors: From Home Depot. 36″x48″ Frameless Polished Edge Mirror (3).
Wall-mounted barre: 8′, wood. Similar

Window blind: From BlindsGalore.com. Levolor Mark 1″ 8-gauge Metal Blind, in Brushed Aluminum.
