I had a great bike ride this morning. In fact, I PR’d both on distance and time. Getting stronger!
On the road, I came upon a herd of black cows in a pasture. I slowed down to look at them, and they got spooked and RAN away. Now, I don’t know anything about livestock, but this seemed odd. Here I am, a little thing compared to all of them, each one alone several times my weight. Also, they were safely fenced from outsiders. Why the fear?
Then it struck me: Fear really is an illusion much of the time. How many times do we let fear take over, when we had the power all along?
One thing that my fat-to-fit journey has taught me is that I’m capable of so much more than I ever realized. Get past the fear illusion and start believing in yourself, and you can accomplish anything.
