Last weekend, my son and I went to McAdams Farm in Efland, N.C., to pick a few buckets of strawberries.
I even found one that looked like my favorite Muppet!
I couldn’t devour Beaker, of course. But we enjoyed every bit of the rest. I made a nutritious strawberry smoothie (recipe here), a refreshing treat on a hot day.
I also bought red and green lettuce at McAdams Farm. My husband whipped up some Strawberry Champagne Vinaigrette Dressing (recipe here), and we enjoyed this delicious lunch as soon as we got home from the farm.
Later, I made my first-ever batch of strawberry jam from a recipe McAdams Farm had posted on their Facebook page. It’s “freezer jam” and really simple to make — no canning necessary (recipe here).
I love strawberry season!
