According to new research published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people who ate 1.5 oz. of almonds each day reported reduced hunger. And despite this adding 250 calories to their diet, after a month of eating the almonds the study participants did not gain weight. Read more on NPR.
Almonds are also nutritious. A 1/4 cup serving has 7 g of protein, 4 g of fiber, and 8% of the daily recommended allowance of calcium and iron.
Don’t overdo it, though — a serving also contains 16 g of total fat.
