Michelle’s Diary: TGIF, gorgeous edition

diaryI’m starting a new column here on Healthy Beauty — “Michelle’s Diary.” This section will be about what I’m doing that day; and also my thoughts, inspirations, challenges, successes, goals…and whatever else happens to come to mind.

The thought for today is: T.G.I.F.! Besides being Friday — which is always a good thing — it’s a gorgeous day here in central North Carolina. Sunny and spring-like, in the lower 60’s. I walked downtown with a coworker for lunch, and it was so beautiful out that I suggested we take the long way on our trek back.

Actually, I’ll do that even on a non-gorgeous day. One of my favorite things to do is to take a lunchtime walk on the beautiful campus where I work. It’s great for my body, mind and spirit. I’ll be writing about that a lot in the columns to come, I’m sure.

Unfortunately, the warm temp and sunshine will not be sticking around for the weekend. We’re expecting freezing temps and some snow tomorrow night, which means I probably won’t be able to do an outside activity this weekend like I would have liked.

I’m not a winter person. I truly do appreciate days like today, and try to take advantage of them by going outdoors for a nice walk when I can. And yes, that is additional to my daily morning treadmill workout.
